What is the difference between duplication and replication?Duplication, also referred to as “burning” is the process of copying the disc contents using a multi-burner DVD/CD duplicating tower. This method is best for quantities less than 1000. Once duplicated, your discs are printed using a thermal or inkjet printer, depending on your artwork. Our color thermal printer, prints at 300dpi and is the closest to offset or silkscreen without the wait. Printing photo-realistic images, the discs are nearly impervious to scratches and water damage. The inkjet is used for smaller colored graphics and/or text. Replication is a complex manufacturing process in which a glass master is created. It’s typically considered for quantities over 1000, which at these volumes, produces the lowest per-disc cost. Once replicated, your discs are printed using either a silkscreen or offset method, depending on your artwork. Silkscreen is usually used when your artwork consists of solid colors, whereas offset works best for intricate designs and multicolor photographs. How do I send my artwork? Artwork is just as important as the content on your disc. It is the first thing someone will see.
